2012 was the year of the worldchampionship with Ferrari and AF Corse. He managed to get some good results. 2013 was a busy year with the Blancpain Sprint and Endurance, as well as the 24 Hours of Zolder. In 2014 and 2015, Enzo Ide mainly raced in the Blancpain Sprint, with some outings in French GT, Belcar and other Gt races. In 2016 the Belgian driver showed his skills al allong the Blancpain Sprint season to become overall champion! In 2017 he drove another season in the best GT series of the world, before deciding to switch to... rallycross. RALLYCROSS
WHAT IS IT?
Enzo Ide: “Rallycross is a highly gritted, intense form of motorsport, taking in both asphalt and gravel surfaces. The races are very short, and a meeting is comprised out of various heats or rounds ending with a final race. It is entirely new for me and I’m really looking forward to it. Especially because you are battling it out with 5 or 6 cars over the size of a handkerchief, with every centimetre counting, all in a sort of rally style. It’s very different from circuit racing and from rally, it’s a mixture of two different worlds. I like intense competitions and I think rallycross everything I’m looking for in motorsport. Sprint races have always been my cup of tea and I love gliding a lot, so there’s nothing better than this form of racing. We have one of the most attractive circuits of the world in our country and I look very much forward to race in Spa-Francorchamps in front of my home crowd ”
