The season 2017 is over for Enzo Ide. The reigning champion in the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup finished his GT season with two solid races on the Nürburgring, but without scoring any more points in the championship. He so hands over the title to his teammates Robin Frijns and Stuart Leonard, which means that Audi remains on top of the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup.
“It was a strange weekend”, comments Enzo Ide. “I did not race with Christopher Mies as he was racing for Audi elsewhere. Fred Vervisch, whom lives close to me in Belgium, replaced him and I think we did the best we could. We finished 14th and 16th, after all not so bad in this highly competitive field. Don’t forget that I’m not a professional driver as all the other guys are. I race five times per year and they do it all the time. I took the title last year and by doing that I achieved maybe the unthinkable…”
