“I can’t wait to see the fans again”
Enzo Ide wants to race again, and in this case, it implies rallycross. This intense form of motorsport will kick off, following the disruption due to the Covid19 pandemic, in the Swedish Höljes and the Swedish JC Raceteknik team will once again be back in action, together with our fellow countryman Enzo Ide.
The Swedish team is comprised of six drivers and in the European Championship they can count on Enzo Ide. He will together with the team, and in preparation for that European Championship, be at the start of the RallyX Nordic in Höljes, the first major rallycross event since the problems with the coronavirus. The RallyX Nordic will hold two races from 2-5 July, admittedly in front of empty grandstands, in accordance with the health regulations in force today. Ide will be at the wheel of an Audi S1 EKS Supercar.
Joel Christoffersson, Team Manager JC Racing Technology:
“Enzo did well during the spring test runs, but is still a rookie in the rallycross world. As such it is good for him to take in those two extra races and be somewhat better prepared before the European Championship kicks off.”
Enzo Ide, Supercar:
“It is now more than a year since my last race, so it feels good to be able to get back to racing on the track. It’s obviously difficult to do this without any spectators present, but to be able to drive behind closed doors feels good, because naturally everyone’s health remains the most important. Out of all the circuits I have had the opportunity to test, Höljes is my favourite; it’s a true rallycross circuit and I’m looking forward to the première there. As I have only competed in one rallycross event up until now I will make every effort to learn as much as possible and make progess. Many professional drivers will also be at the start, so here again I will try to learn from them and move up in the ranking. I have a good feeling when it comes to my collaboration with JC Raceteknik. It is a highly reliable team providing a top service, which is something important for me, in order to perform well. I’m truly happy that this difficult period, on the one hand following my accident and on the other the coronavirus, that this now slowly belongs to the past and I hope that shortly the fans will once again be able to enjoy their sport!”
